Some typical guests' reviews:
"This hotel was in a great location. Just across the street was a little super market great for picking up water, etc. Around the corner was Bon Marche department store. Also close to shopping and subway stops. The staff was helpful and friendly. Although breakfast was not included, we figured out it was about the same price at the hotel (10 euros)than anywhere else...and you could have it in your room. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone."
"We had a nice stay. The hotel is very clean and the employees are friendly and helpful. Im comparison to other hotels in Paris this one is a good bargain. We can recommend this hotel without any reduction."
"The Hotel Chomel was perfect for our stay in Paris. Located in a quiet street the rooms decor was a little older but it was clean and functional. The manager of the hotel was very helpful and the maps and card provided on arrival very useful. As people who like to expore by walking it was only a handy 25 minute walk to The Seine and Eiffel Tower. Good value and would stay there again."
"I travelled with friends and we got separate rooms. Their room was extremely spacious with a double bed and a twin bed and very nice ensuite bathroom. The staff accommodated my request for a balcony and while the room was small, it was comfortable. Extra pillows were even provided in the wardrobe. The hotel is on a very quiet street. It is also very convenient to the Metro and is walking distance to the Louvre and Orsay. Breakfast was not included, but that was no problem given the multitude of cafes in the area."
"For the price this hotel offers excellent accommodation, is just round the corner from the Bon Marche dept. store and is well situated for the shopping areas and restaurants in the Blvd St. Germain area. The metro is also very close with a one stop connection to the RER."
"Nice central location but on a quiet small street. Room was kind of small but very clean with a French balcony. Toilet was receltly renovated and extremely clean. Metro 5 min walk away (from the airport just one change from CDG RER to the metro). For the price we paid $70/night I would definately recommend this to anyone."
"Great location, quiet street, very close from a metro station."
"The men at the desk were always helpful no matter what the question. I was given a business card w/ name, phone # and map when I arrived so that I could always find myself back to the hotel, excellent thing to do. The arrangement for getting a shuttle to the airport was done well. Conversation w/ the desk person was always polite and helpful, as was the local resturant information. I would stay there again and would recommend it to those I knew where going to be in Paris. Having airconditioning and a smoke free room made all the difference in the quality of my stay. Thank you for such a wonderful stay."
"Loved it, already planning our next trip! We will be back, Thanks!"

Splendid Hotel is a three stars hotel halfway between the Eiffel Tower and St Germain des Prés, on the Left Bank. It is right in the heart of the 7th district (arrondissement), the part of Paris for art and literature lovers.
In this distinguished quarter with its wide, tree-lined avenues and freestone buildings, one is never far from the echoes of French history and its prestigious symbols: the Champs de Mars, Ecole Militaire, Les Invalides, Champs Elysees, the Latin Quarter are all close by, as well as the UNESCO Exhibition Hall, the future International Conference Center and the Exhibition Park at the Porte de Versailles.
The hotel is a Haussman building, entirely refurnished in the spirit of contemporary Art Deco. The reception hall, bar and breakfast room are a subtle combination of mirrors and spotty maple paneling. All rooms have views of the Eiffel Tower.
All rooms have direct modem plug, colour TV, radio, telephone, hair-dryer, mini-bar, safe.
Some typical guests' reviews:
"Went to this hotel had read the review which made it sound great but wasn't expecting the world. However when we arrived it was perfect, we had a balcony with an amazing view of the eiffel tower, the room had all we wanted in it and was a decent size. The staff were great there was always someone on the door even if we went out late. I couldn't recommend this place more highly. Fantastic!"
"The Splendid Hotel was the perfect Hotel for what we wanted. This was our first time in Paris and finding The Splendid Hotel was easy. The hotel was a very short walk to the Champ de Mar, with a balcony overlooking the Eiffel Tower (Excellent). There were Metro stations near by. The staff were very friendly and English speaking, the rooms were compact but we were their to see Paris and not the room. The rates were very competitive and was worth the money. I would definately use the Splendid again on our return to Paris."
"Good service, nice rooms, great location near les invalides and ecole militaire."
"The rooms were clean and the reception desk were very friendly. The location of the hotel is the best, because we can keep staring at the eiffel in the night under the stars and walk back late night, not worrying about finding a Metro (or) paying for a cab. Worth staying here just for the location alone."
"on arrival i thought we had got the wrong hotel as it was alot nicer than in the picture's which i didnt think possible. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpfull, even allowing us to stay out to early hours and wait up for us! we had a great stay at the splendid and will be going back shortly. This hotel is also worth atleast a 4 star! thank you splendid."
"this is a fine hotel in a great location to the tower, the metro station and supermarket nearby were also very handy, our room was a little small but had a great view and a comfy bed, i would definately recommend this hotel."
"GREAT LOCATION! We were in walking distance to every thing we wanted(sights, metro, cafes, pharmacy). Our room had a spectacular view of the Eiffel Tower!"
"The hotel was relativley easy to find following AA auto route's instructions (yeah right, in another life time) but once we found it, it was very easy booking in and the staff spoke very good English. The room was cheaper to book over the internet by 50 euro's a day. The roooms were a tad on the small side but were well set out. The only thing lacking was brew facilities and an iron with board. There is a mini bar in the room but it may be cheaper to bring your own beer in. We had fresh sheets and towels every day and the noise levels weere adequate. The atractions close by like the Eifle Tower which cost's only 10.4 euro's to the top was very good and a tour of Paris is well worth it, i would surguest using the open top double decker buses though as they only cost 22 euro's each and a ticket lasts fo two days and you can get on and off when you want. Looking round for places to eat can be dear but a bargin can be found."
