The nearest S bhan and U bhan stations are a little under 5 mins walk and so all of Berlin can be easily reached. You can see some of the domes of museum island from the hotel so although it is right on the edge of Mitte it is close to central Berlin. We would recommend this hotel and would definitely use it again."

"It is was a great hotel. The only thing is that the hotel is only on the 5th floor. The rest of the building is office rooms so it was a little hard to figure things out when we first got there. "The hotel was refreshingly different - only 17 rooms, and it was very quiet. We shared a small balcony with another room in which our friends were staying and, although the view wasn't great, it was fun to meet up for a drink on the balcony before going out at night! The breakfast buffet was excellent, lots of choice and the breakfast room was extremely pleasant, with great artwork! The staff were extremely welcoming, but we felt like our privacy was protected, by having the staff leave at 8 each evening. It felt more like private appartments than an anonymous hotel! The rate was about £70 per night, which wasn't bad, but if it had been about £60 it would have been amazing value for money as well! In general a really pleasant stay, in a convenient location for all the Berlin sights, culture and the cool Prenzlauerberg and Kreuzberg areas!"

It's very modern in style, with lots of blue neon lights and beaded plating everywhere, a style of decor that I liked immensely. The staff are generally friendly and helpful. The food is OK. The Generator Berlin has one major advantage over its sister hostel in London as far as I am concerned - the availability of en suite rooms for very little extra. Personally, I would definitely stay at The Generator Berlin again."
